5th meeting of the Working group on standardization, metrology and conformity assessment

On 21 March 2016 ÚNMZ has hosted the 5th meeting of Czech-Russian Working group on standardization, metrology and conformity assessment which was held in the Framework of the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Russian Federation and Czech Republic. Plenary meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission took place in the congress hall of the Prague InterContinental hotel on 23 March 2016.

The Czech delegation, headed by the President of ÚNMZ, Mr. Pokorný, was composed of representatives of specialized departments of ÚNMZ, Czech Metrology Institute and Association of Accredited and Authorized Organisations and welcomed the Russian delegation headed by the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology, Mr. Potemkin. Russian delegates represented Academy for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Flow Metering and D.I. Mendeleyev All-Russian Research Institute for Metrology.

Both sides informed each other about current state and prospective development in the fields of technical standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and related education. Also future intentions of relevant institutions were outlined so that areas of further cooperation might be identified. Particularly representatives of metrological institutions reached an agreement on specific issues of common interest and possible ways of cooperation in these areas. Part of the meeting addressing the education in the scope of authority of the Working group, namely information on the Academy for Standardization, Metrology and Certification was also very contributive. Both sides agreed on an intention of setting a system of mutual provision of the national technical standards and other normative documents. Heads of both parts of the Working group also came to an agreement on confirmation of the earnest intentions of further cooperation development by signing the revised Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of standardization and metrology between the Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology of Russian Federation and the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing.
